AIR ONE AVIATION EXTENDS 747 FREIGHTER FOCUS AS ROM CARGO SIGNS EXCLUSIVE GLOBAL SALES AGREEMENT

ROM Cargo has appointed Air One Aviation as its exclusive Global Sales & Services partner.

This follows the awarding of the airline’s Air Operators’ Certificate by Romania’s civil aviation authority to begin international Boeing 747-400 freighter services.

Combined with its existing airline client base, the new contract means Air One Aviation is now marketing its biggest-ever fleet of Boeing 747-400SF freighters globally as well as a Boeing 737-400SF for regional cargo services. In the past 18 months, Air One Aviation has generated over 270 million kilos of airfreight for more than 2,400 full freighter flights to more than 50 countries, achieving its most successful year yet.

Air One Aviation expects ROM Cargo’s 747F fleet – which will be available for full charter services and capable of carrying payloads of up to 112 tonnes – to meet immediate demand for Asia-Europe cargo capacity.

Paul Bennett, Founder & CEO of Air One Aviation Limited, stated: “We are delighted to welcome another Boeing 747 freighter operator into our fleet portfolio. With the support we are generating from our freight forwarding, logistics and charter broker customers for 747 all-cargo capacity, we are confident of quickly establishing ROM Cargo in the international market and developing a platform for the next stage of the airline’s expansion.”

“Given its track record of generating growth for other 747 freighter operators, and its large, established customer
base for full charter flights, we see Air One Aviation as a natural partner for
our aircraft. It has a highly experienced commercial team, and we look forward to leveraging their knowledge and expertise in the freighter market,” added Nicu Berla, Deputy Accountable Manager of the company, which trades as ROMMCARGO.

AIR ONE AVIATION EXTENDS SERVICE PORTFOLIO WITH ACQUISITION OF QUADRANT’S PILOT TRAINING BUSINESS

Air One Aviation has increased its service portfolio for aviation industry clients with the acquisition of UK-based pilot training business, Quadrant Systems Limited (QSL).

Formed in 1994, Quadrant Systems operates a purpose-built flight simulation and training facility at Burgess Hill, West Sussex, providing UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) accredited Full Flight Training Simulators. The core elements of the purchase include training organisation, Quadrant Pilot, and four bay Full Flight Simulators.

With this acquisition – which coincides with the final stages of Air One’s further purchase of Pier Seven Aviation FZC –
Air One Aviation will provide pilot training using six simulators for Boeing 737NG, B737CL, B747-400, B757-200 and Airbus A320 aircraft crews. The training centre at Burgess Hill also includes briefing rooms and other pilot training aids.

ONE AIR COMPLETES INAUGURAL FLIGHT AND BEGINS PREPARATIONS TO WELCOME SECOND FREIGHTER

Britain’s new all-cargo airline, One Air, has completed its inaugural Boeing 747-400 freighter flight, operating a full charter for client Shandong Glory from China to the United Kingdom.

Date: 25 July 2023

The 100-tonne payload arrived at London Heathrow from Jinan-Shandong last night, marking the commercial launch of the new airline.

Chris Hope, One Air’s Chief Operating Officer, said “This is a landmark day for One Air and all our team and partners in the UK, who have worked so hard to prepare for our successful launch since the awarding of our AOC by the UK Civil Aviation Authority. As well as ad hoc charter flights, we are now also commencing a regular flying programme from Asia Pacific to Europe with two 747F flights per week. Work is also under way to add a second 747F to our fleet, which we hope will enter service in early Q4. We are delighted to be open for business.”

AIR ONE AVIATION GENERATES 145 MILLION KILOS OF BOOKINGS FOR 1,300 747 FULL CHARTERS IN FIRST YEAR AS GLOBAL GSA FOR AEROTRANSCARGO

Air One Aviation has generated over 145 million kilos of cargo for over 1,300 Boeing 747 freighter flights in its first 12 months as the global general sales agency partner of AEROTRANSCARGO (ATC).

Prior to appointing UK-headquartered Air One Aviation on 1 August 2020, AEROTRANSCARGO was operating solely as an ACMI carrier with four 747-400 freighters. A year later, it has a fleet of six 747-400Fs and Air One Aviation has helped to firmly establish ATC as a first-tier charter airline partner working with global freight forwarding and logistics companies, and charter brokers.

Such has been the success of the partnership that Air One Aviation already has another 1,000 full flights booked between August and the end of 2021 to transport a further 115 million kilos of cargo.
